With great food, dancing that lasts all day, and an atmosphere of joy and celebration, these festivals make a great way to celebrate life the Indian way.

- Airplanes fly only in designated flyways that are ten miles wide. No other airplane can fly through it.

These are legitimate facts. The truth is, all the fear can be attributed to the media’s coverage of plane crashes. However, now you have more stuff to do to prepare for your flight. First off, decide whether you want to check your bag or carry it on board. A small weekend bag is easy to carry on, but if you’re planning a long vacation, consider checking it. The TSA advises that you get to the airport at least two hours before your flight time in order to allow time for check-in, security, getting your boarding pass, and everything else.

Try to arrange for a friend to drop you off at the airport. This saves you the hassle of parking. Upon entering the terminal, look for the front desk of your airline. There should be tons of them in a row. This is the location where you will check in, receive your boarding pass, and then check your luggage.

Next up you have to go through security. Make sure you have your ID, your boarding pass, and your passport out. It is easier than ever before to renewing an American passport that is unexpired. It is a simple procedure and can be done by mail. You will only need three items: your old passport, a manila envelope and two pictures. The application for a passport renewal is simple and easy to fill out.

First you must find your old passport. Don’t worry about parting with it. If you have some sentimental attachment to your old passport, you don’t need to fear losing it. Your old passport will be returned in the mail with your new passport.

The passport photo you submit with the application must be current. Passport photos are available in many locations nowadays and are inexpensive. The photo format is that it must be a 2-inch by 2-inch picture with a white or near white background. The photo must show you full face. You can’t wear headgear. If you must wear glasses normally, wear them for the photograph. Tinted glasses or sunglasses are not acceptable unless you have a doctor’s statement that requires tinted lenses.

The application form for the passport document is available online. You can find it at the United States Department of State website. Download the application form there and print it out in paper form. Complete all the necessary information on the form.

Now you will need to decide if you need or want to have a passport card. These come in handy if you are going to places like Bahamas, Mexico or Canada. You will not need to carry your passport book with you to these locales; all you need is the card. The card does have an extra fee, so you decide if it will be worth it for you.

Payment of the correct amount of money is important, but you must also decide whether you need the passport faster than the normal processing time. You might want to expedite the shipping of the application and documents to the agency. You might want to pay for them to speed up the processing time and return the passport quickly. Different prices apply to each of the services above and beyond standard service.

Payment of the fees for processing and the document preparation can be made in any of various formats. You may send a personal check, so long as the name and address on the check matches the information on the application. The payment of a valid check will be held to allow for the check to clear.
