Detailed and thorough travel plans can change in the blink of an eye. A trip abroad originally intended to take place several months in the future might be rescheduled for next week, and you still may not have your passport. Or, you could already be traveling, and your passport gets lost or stolen. None of us likes to contemplate those options, but it is necessary to know how to replace that document without totally disrupting a trip in progress. These situations often call for an Emergency US Passport.

Although completing an application for a normally issued passport is not complicated, the turnaround time can be at least six weeks and even longer during certain peak travel times. Typically, someone applying for a new document must have proof of U.S. Citizenship, two recent passport photographs, a completed application form, a currently valid photo id and the ability to pay the required fees. This can be done easily at the United States Post Office and they will handle the processing.

But what about an unexpected trip abroad that will require a passport as soon as possible? If you find that you must travel within 14 days and have not yet applied for your passport or a necessary foreign visa, the U.S. Government has regional passport agencies designed to assist you in these situations. Someone needing documentation in less than two weeks for international travel or needing a visa within four weeks can call for an appointment at a Regional Passport Agency.

Details of this process may be readily found on U.S. Government travel internet sites. Standard government procedures, however, are not the only way to hasten the process of obtaining new or replacement passports. There are many private businesses, most of which are listed on the internet, that will take care of your detailed passport needs for an additional fee. These sites may be very helpful when time is at a premium, and doing a comparison search of these sites can be useful in planning a trip.

These practices and suggestions apply mainly to existing or new passports. When traveling, the unthinkable can happen. The papers can be lost or stolen and a citizen may be stranded without documentation. Having this happen can destroy the trip of a lifetime if not remedied as quickly as possible. One piece of advice that should never be ignored is to make a photocopy of your current passport. Store it carefully, packed in a completely different bag if possible. Having a copy can truly speed up the replacement process. Without it, replacement is often slower.

When the worst scenario happens, a traveler will need immediate help from the local U.S. Consulate or Embassy. If the Consulate is contacted, ask for the American Citizens Service unit. They are used to this type of emergency. Usually, the person who has lost his or her documents will be asked in detail about his or her travel itinerary. This information can help speed things up and circumvent any unnecessary bureaucratic delays. You will be required to submit a brand new application. They will need to absolutely verify that you have legitimate identification prior to any replacement.

They will require the details of your personal information. This means they will want your full name, place and date of birth, and the statistics on the old passport including the date, location of issue, and passport number if available. Obviously, if you have made a photocopy beforehand, this information will be immeasurably easier to provide. In addition, they will need a sworn statement or affidavit before a consular officer affirming the loss or theft. A police report is not necessary, but may be helpful in cases of thievery. Once these details are verified, the information can then be confirmed through a database called the U.S. Passport Verification System. The original data will then be retrieved.

For security reasons, some people will be asked for further proof of citizenship and name clearance when requesting their lost passport replacement. Often this information can be verified by others in your travel group. Sometimes it must be clarified by contacting relatives back home. If this proves difficult to obtain, proof is often available through previous government passport information. Those citizens who may be destitute due to a natural disaster or calamitous robbery, fees may be waived until funds are available again for that individual. The end result will be an emergency passport that allows you to continue traveling with a minimum of disruption.

There are many exciting aspects about international travel. With so many places to see and things to do, it isn’t hard to suddenly discover that you have misplaced your passport. You might be sailing on a lake in Europe and you stumble and drop your passport into the water. You might be enjoying the beach off the coast of France and when you pick up your beach chair, you drop your passport and it’s gone. Maybe you are enjoying a shopping trip in Paris and find your pocket has been picked and your travel document has landed in the wrong hands. Emergency situations can happen quickly, but there are Emergency Pasport services to help you in such an event.

An emergency passport is basically a passport that is rush shipped to you. If you go online, you have many options that are open to you. There’s this website, US Passport Now, that can get you your passport in as little as a day. So if anything should happen to your passport, you don’t have to worry about waiting for months and months for it to get to you.

There is a little more to getting an emergency passport replacement than getting a new one but the details will depend on your particular situation. The most common problem is a lost passport. It isn’t difficult to loose tract of your passport if you don’t travel very often and perhaps even if you do. The process regarding a lost passport is very similar to the procedure followed for replacing a stolen passport.

The first thing to do is notify the authorities so your missing passport can be canceled. If you are in a foreign country, contact the local authorities and also the U.S. Embassy to report the lost or stolen passport. If you are in the United States, contact your local police department if you suspect it has been stolen. In either case, contact the United States Passport Office in your community also. You will fill out either a Lost Passport Affidavit or a Stolen Passport Affidavit to accompany other necessary paperwork and documentation.

After you’ve reported the loss or theft, you can go about getting a new passport. You can either go into the post office or passport office to do this, or you can do it all right from your computer. If you choose to do it from your computer, find a reputable and secure passport processing site, fill out an application for an expedited passport, submit it, and then send the supplementary things to the given address to complete your application. Then all you need to do is wait for your passport, depending on when you decided to have it shipped.

Perhaps you haven’t lost your passport or had it stolen. Maybe you dropped it into the bathtub and now it is warped and smudged. There are services to help you in this situation also through these online passport assistance websites.

Yes, traveling is supposed to be fun, and yes, bad things can happen. But being prepared means never having to worry about the worst case scenario. Should something bad happen, there are Emergency United States Passport services from companies like US Passport Now at your fingertips to help get you wherever you’re trying to go.

Going through a family tragedy is tough enough without it happening and not having a way to get to that family member. Having a child get hurt abroad can be a horrifying experience, especially if you don’t have a valid passport and no way to get over to be with them. Luckily, the State Department does have provision for emergency U.S. passport services.

If there is an emergency, the first thing that needs to be done is contact the Department of State’s Passport Information Center. The people there are prepared for this type of situation and will be able to guide the family through the process of getting a passport as quickly as possible. The situation will have to fall into their guidelines, but if it does, a passport may be in hand in as little as 24 hours.

There is a National Passport Information Center that has an automatic phone appointment system that can be accessed 24/7. If it is impossible to get an appointment time that meets the family’s needs, a live person can be reached at a call center from 6AM to 12 midnight, ET, on weekdays. A customer service representative can supply direction on what to do in this case.

However, many people in the midst of a family event of great seriousness may wish to opt for using a private passport expediting service, especially when it is a weekend or other time when government representatives may not be available. These for-profit agencies specialize in cutting through the red tape to move an emergency passport through the process at lightning speed. For a non-critical application, they can get the job done in two to three days.

If the passport is needed in 24 hours, services like this can usually make that happen without a problem. They have been known to put a passport in people’s hands by the end of the same day. Because of this, the family can get their tickets that much quicker and be on their international flight as soon as possible.

Most of the private passport agencies perform transactions online, especially when it comes to renewing an existing passport. It is a great relief to be able to leave passport problems to someone else and to only need to fill out some simple online forms rather than deal with an in-person visit to the post office. These firms specialize in knowing exactly what to do and can conduct most communications with the family via email, leaving phone lines free for more pressing matters.

Naturally, the cost of using a private agency is going to be more than simply going the government route alone, but it is true that time is money. The comfort of leaving the details to someone else can be worth its weight in gold. A two to three day turn around will cost the applicant about $200. Bear in mind that the government fees will also be assessed on top of the agency’s fees, so figure that everything will cost about $300 or more.

While nobody ever wants to pay the fees that are associated with rush service, sometimes there is no other choice but to use emergency passport application services. It is for this very reason that everyone should always have a valid passport on hand. However, it is nice to know that should we neglect to get our passport in time, there are US passport expediting services out there that can make this happen and allow us to get with our loved ones in an emergency.

Do you need to leave the country in the next 48 hours? Don’t have a passport? Or has your passport expired? Because of your situation, it’s simply just impossible for you to apply for a passport and have it routinely processed. With current passport processing times of four to six weeks, a routine passport application obviously isn’t an option.

The situation is even more important if you are faced with a family emergency and need to leave in 48 hours or less. Because of your situation, the US Department of State provides you with a way to apply for a passport without having to go through the regular passport processing times, so you can leave the country as soon as possible. They will provide you with an emergency passport.

Emergency passports are issued to US citizens who have family emergencies outside the country and have to leave within the next 48 hours. So, if you need a passport quickly, an emergency passport is what you need. Applying for one ensures that you’ll be able to leave the country immediately.

But what do you need to apply for an emergency passport? First of all, you need to contact the National Passport Information Agency (NPIA). This is the agency tasked with handling all your emergency passport needs at any time of the day. Simply give them a call, and they will help you set a schedule with the nearest passport agency. The passport agency will then be the one to help you obtain an emergency passport.

In case the NPIA is unable to schedule an appointment for you, simply hang on the line. You will then be forwarded to a customer service representative (CSR). In turn, the CSR will handle your call and provide you with options on how you can get your emergency passport.

However, if your reason to leave the country isn’t as urgent as a family emergency, there’s still an option for you to speed the process up. You can choose to get an expedited passport. This is ideal if you need to leave the country within the next four to ten weeks.

Expedited passports are designed for those who need to leave the country within the next 10 weeks. Current processing times for expedited passports are at two to three weeks. So if you need to get a passport during this time frame, then getting an expedited passport is the best choice you have. Take note that expedited passports require an additional fee to process. This is by no means a hefty fee. In fact, it’s a price that’s well worth every penny if you are looking for speed and convenience when applying for your passport.

If you need to be with your family in family emergencies outside the country, you have the option of getting an emergency passport. Having an emergency new passport will enable you to leave the country in as little as 48 hours or less. However, if you can wait for at least 2 weeks, you have the choice of having your pass port application expedited instead. This comes with an additional fee, but you get speed and a quick response in return.

Going through a family tragedy is tough enough without it happening and not having a way to get to that family member. Having a child get hurt abroad can be a horrifying experience, especially if you don’t have a valid passport and no way to get over to be with them. Luckily, the State Department does have provision for emergency new passport services.

They have an automated system to make appointments and live operators from 6am-midnight EST to answer any questions pertaining to emergency passports. If the automated system cannot offer an appointment that is quick enough, talk to one of the live operators instead to see what can be done. More than likely, they will be able to expedite the situation or put you in contact with an agency that can handle the task at hand.

If the family is in a position where they are going to need their passports in 24 hours, these services are excellent and being able to make this happen. As a matter of fact, people that arrive early in the day can sometimes get their passports before the end of the business day. This is a great relief to those that know that they need to be on a plane as soon as possible.

For the most part, these agencies can be found online and all business can be conducted that way. However, there are also plenty of brick and mortar offices if that is preferred. These services are invaluable to someone that simply cannot deal with all of the forms that are required. They can supply the agency with their information and pretty much be done with it at that point.

It would be nice to think that these agencies were a part of our government and were there to just help, but unfortunately this is not the case. They are there to make a profit and while they will help, they are going to charge a fee for their services. The quicker the passport is needed, the more they are going to charge.

While nobody ever wants to pay the fees that are associated with rush service, sometimes there is no other choice but to use emergency US passport services. It is for this very reason that everyone should always have a valid passport on hand.

Sometimes you are forced to leave the country unexpectedly, and realize that you still need to apply for a passport or renew your expired one. In this case, going through the routine passport application wouldn’t be an option. Currently, you’ll need to wait four to six weeks to have your passport processed for routine applications.

The situation is even more important if you are faced with a family emergency and need to leave in 48 hours or less. Because of your situation, the US Department of State provides you with a way to apply for a passport without having to go through the regular passport processing times, so you can leave the country as soon as possible. They will provide you with an emergency passport.

Emergency passports are designed for those facing family emergencies outside the country and need to leave in 48 hours or less. At times when your loved ones can’t wait, this is the passport you’ll need. Applying for this type of passport ensures you are able to leave the country as soon as possible.

There are times, however, when the NPIA is unable to set an appointment for you. You shouldn’t worry when this happens. Instead, stay on the line and you will be forwarded to a customer service representative (CSR). The CSR will then be the one to assist you regarding your application for an emergency passport.

What if you don’t really need to travel within the next 48 hours? You have the option of just having your passport application expedited instead. As far as processing speeds go, an expedited option sits in between the routine passport application and the emergency passport.

The expedited passport option is a kind of a value-added service. And because of this, your passport application will be given priority over the routine passport applications. Thus expedited passports are a lot faster to process. And as a value-added service, you can expect an expedited passport to have an extra fee added to the regular passport application fees you need to pay. This is a non-issue, of course, if you need to get your passport quickly and don’t want to break a sweat doing it.

At times when you are faced with a family emergency, you’ll always have the option to apply for an emergency American passport. Emergency us passport cut the waiting time for passport applications so that you can be with your loved ones outside the country as soon as possible. Now if you can wait for two to three weeks to have your application processed, you can always have it expedited.

If you need to travel outside of the United States, you must have a passport. Since June 1, 2009, persons leaving the U. S. or its territories have been required to present a passport for re-entry into the U. S. (passport cards are acceptable for travel to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean area). If you have family living outside of the United States, there can be times when you will need to make a visit in case of emergency. In this case, you will need to have an emergency new passport for the visit.

As soon as you find out that a close family member is moving out of the United States, you should apply for your passport. If you ever intend to visit, you will have to have this documentation. Having a passport means freedom to visit family when you want to make the visit.

There is a specific procedure to follow in order to obtain a passport. If you have never had a passport before, you must visit a processing center in person. You will probably be able to locate one in or near your hometown. Currently, it is taking four to six weeks to obtain a passport using the normal application method.

People planning to travel in fewer than fourteen days or who need a passport to obtain a visa can pay an extra fee and get an expedited passport. You will also want to pay for overnight delivery and choose the passport book as this will be the quickest way to get the passport back. In addition, you will need proof of your travel dates.

Turn around for an expedited passport is approximately two weeks. You will want to pay the extra fee for a passport book. The passport book can be shipped overnight, however the card is only shipped by US mail.

In life or death situations, you can apply for an emergency passport. To make this application, you or your agent will need to travel to a regional passport agency to submit your paperwork. There is no charge for the appointment and you can schedule the appointment twenty four hours per day seven days a week using the toll-free passport number. Appointments are often available within twenty-four hours and you will normally receive your passport at the appointment if you supply all the necessary documentation, including proof of travel within the 14 day period.

If you need a passport and cannot physically travel to the regional agency, you will find several companies that will for a fee serve as your agent and make application for your passport. You will need to send information to the agent using overnight delivery and they will return your passport in the same manner. Many of these agents are able to obtain your passport within a twenty four hour period.

By employing a service to act as your new passport agent, you will be required to pay their fee. In addition you may need to pay more for shipping of the application packet and the return passport. While this can increase the cost of obtaining the emergency passport application, it is much less stressful than trying to get to the center yourself. It also gives you more time to prepare for your trip.
