Would you send an 8 year old for 3 days to an adventure holiday?

Red (UK) asked:

you know archery, abseiling, rock climbing, tree ropes etc, with the school? or is 8 too young? If no why not and what age would be OK? (oh and she’s a girl if that matters!)
there are adults supervising of course – teachers and centre staff. All police checked, trained etc.

if it was my kid, I would, only if i could go as a chaperone. at about 11 i would with adult supervision.

definitly let her go, experiences like this are great character builders at any age. ensure that they have enough staffing to deal with the kids, or offer to help if it would make you feel more at ease.

I would, as long as they had lots of trained supervision and they wanted to go. If the school has done this in the past, you can always look into their safety record before you make up your mind.
